In 1983 the Social Security Act (SSA) was last amended, with the intent to SUPPLEMENT retirement. Many people don't understand this fact. Our government leaders have been using this fund as a political tool for re-election.

Under former President Bill Clinton our elected officials "raided" the unused funds left over in the SSA fund and transferred it to the general fund and called it "a budget surplus." That made it sound like our officials had the budget in order.

The truth is that, by slight of hand, the budget surplus added to the deficit by $3 trillion!

Remember when President George W. Bush returned to every citizen $300.00? Do you know were that money came from? I'll give you 1 guess. Yes, funding from the general SSA. IOU's were put into the SSA vault. We all lost on that one.

Bernie Madoff is currently spending 150 years in prison for his $50 billion ponzi scheme. Wonder if he learned this from watching how our federal government has manipulated the system?

Now, Congress is wanting to pay-down the deficit by changing the SSA rules and cut funding for Medicare. We lose, AGAIN!

Mr. G.W. Bush cut taxes for the most wealthy in the country was based on the "BUDGET SURPLUS." Congress refuses to repeal these tax-cuts. Are we tired of losing yet?
